Traversica ("we", "us", or "our") operates traversica.com. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: When you sign up, we store your email address and a hashed password via Supabase (our authentication provider).
Trip data: Places you save are stored locally in your browser (localStorage/IndexedDB). If you are a Premium member, trip data is also synced to our Supabase database so you can access it across devices.
Usage analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage patterns (pages visited, session duration). This data is anonymised and does not personally identify you.
Email newsletter: If you subscribe, we store your email address to send travel updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies: We use a small number of first-party cookies for session management and user preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve the Traversica service
To sync your trip plans across devices (Premium)
To send you travel updates if you subscribed (you can opt out any time)
To understand how users interact with the platform (analytics)
To process payments for Premium subscriptions via Stripe

3. Third-Party Services

Supabase: Authentication and database. Privacy policy
Stripe: Payment processing. We never store card numbers. Privacy policy
Google Analytics 4: Aggregate usage analytics with IP anonymisation enabled.
GetYourGuide / affiliate partners: Tour booking links on destination cards. Clicking them may set a partner cookie on their site.
Netlify: Hosting provider. Stores standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, URL).

4. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us. Local trip data (localStorage) remains on your device until you clear your browser data.

5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are in the EU or California, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

6. Children

Traversica is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use of Traversica after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
